College of DuPage FREE Tax Preparation Services

College of DuPage is offering FREE income tax preparation and electronic filing for both state and federal tax returns on Saturday mornings and designated Wednesday evenings from February 15th through April 9th. The COD VITA-Free Tax Prep program is able to prepare federal and state income tax returns for 2021, 2022 2023 and 2024 tax years. This service is available to all community members regardless of income level.

  • Parking: Park in Fawell Lot C2
  • Entrance: Enter the SRC through Door 1

Service Details

  • This is a FREE service available to the public.
  • Tax Forms Prepared:
    • State Form IL-1040
    • Federal Form 1040 with Schedules A, B, C-EZ, D (3 items or fewer), and EIC (Earned Income Credit).
  • Tax Preparation Provided By:
    College of DuPage students enrolled in the Accounting 2200 Income Tax Preparation course, under instructor supervision.

Required Documents

To ensure we can complete your tax return, please bring:

  • Printed copies of all 2024 tax documents
  • A printed copy of your 2023 income tax return
  • Account number information (including bank routing numbers) for direct deposit
